Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advantage of becoming a member of ATRAC?

Meeting with other users and the software programmer allows each treasurer to recommend changes in the software. It also allows treasurers to keep the software up to date with the state-mandated procedural requirements. It is also a great learning tool for new users.

What is the cost to join?

Dues are $25 per year.

How do I become a member of ATRAC?

If you are interested in becoming a member, you may attend your first meeting free of charge. If, after attending, you decide to become a member, you may contact any of the board members and an invoice for the annual dues will be forwarded to you. The date, time, and location of the meetings are posted on this website.

Are all recommendations implemented?

No. After a group discussion concerning the issue, the group decides if the change is good for all users and the programmer must be able to implement the change without interfering with the other operations of the program.

How often is the software updated?

Each treasurer's software can be updated any time during the year. When the programmer is contacted about a problem, he dials into the system and updates the program. If a treasurer experiences a problem, he/she can call the programmer and request an update.

When you experience a problem with the system, how long does it take to get it fixed?

The treasurer contacts the programmer directly. Most problems are corrected within a few minutes.

If the treasurer's office converts to the AIS software, is every office in the courthouse required to use the same system?

No. However, if the AIS software is used in the county clerk's office for payables, all data from this office can be imported into your system in a matter of seconds. This eliminates data entry errors and reduces the time it takes to record payables.

If linked, can the county clerk access information in the treasurer's office and vice-versa?

No. This only allows for the transfer of payable. You cannot change any data in the clerk's system, nor can he/she access any in the treasurer's system.

Can a (chief) deputy also attend the meetings?

Yes. Dues are paid per county, not by number of individuals.

Does the programmer attend each meeting?

Yes. He uses a laptop and projector to give demonstrations, allowing everyone in the room to see exactly what is being discussed.
